I am very grateful for the assistance that I have received from Community Futures Peace Liard.
Back in November of 2020, Bonnie introduced me to the Self Employment program through Work BC.
I entered into that program and took numerous workshops that assisted me in starting my dining restaurant in Tumbler Ridge BC.
This was a 48 week program that allowed me to keep my EI while completing essential workshops that assisted me in opening up my business successfully in 2021.
Community Futures also assisted me with a loan for the start costs that were necessary.
It has been a challenge to say the least during this pandemic, however I know that the team at Community Futures is there to assist in many ways.
They had contacted me and indicated during the heavy restrictions that occurred during this pandemic that I could do interest only payments on my loan. This may seem like a small gesture but it was huge for me and it was extremely welcomed!
I have recently been introduced to another program through Community Futures, Taking Care of Business, which is where there are a number of workshops that I can attend online to increase marketing skills and assist me with navigating the Employment Standards Act. I am looking forward to taking some of these courses.
Thank you Community Futures and I look forward to continue to work with all of you in the future.
Cheers,
Bryce Kirby
