What are the community Awards?

These awards are a way for us to recognize the efforts and commitments made by individuals, businesses and groups to build a stronger community and enhance our quality of life through volunteerism, achievement, acts of heroism or philanthropy.

History

The Dawson Creek community awards were started in 2016 and this year the City of Dawson Creek has partnered with Community Futures Peace Liard to level up the awards and celebrate our nominees and recipients. We have collaborated to create some new categories to highlight our communities, businesses, and people within that make our community a vibrant place to work, play and live.
The award nomination and voting process will start in November, and in January we will have a Community Awards Gala to celebrate the nominees and announce our award recipients in an Oscar like fashion. We want to celebrate the people, businesses and groups within our community and ensure they are recognized for their achievements.
